This 100 word story is a continuation of The Escape – Friday Fictioneers. If you want a better idea of what’s going on in this story, I suggest you read that first.
Eric was startled from his slumber thanks to someone pounding on the door to his suite. With a yawn he threw on the silk robe he had taken from a naive tourist. He didn’t normally steal from his victims but it was of his refined taste and he’d hate to see it go to waste.
He opened the door but no one was there, just a letter at his feet. He caught the faint trace of a familiar scent as he bent down to pick up the envelope. It couldn’t be. Eric swallowed hard when he saw the handwriting. Elle?!
This story was written for the Friday Fictioneers 100 word story challenge featuring the photo prompt above. If you haven’t tried doing one yet, you should! They are downright addictive. Just visit the blog above for more details.
Geez…making me wait for more 😉 Great job!
There will be more. Oh and what fun is to be had. I hope Eric had fun at party central. Something tells me his partying days are over.
Sounds like another continuing story. Tune in next week for episode 3!!
Heh. Not going to do it every week but when the picture fits, I’ll add more to my pregnant vampire drama.
Pregnant vampire drama??!! Yikes! 🙂
The link to the beginning story is in the top paragraph. Yeah, it’s silly as hell but I’m going to run with it and see where it takes me.
Why not?
Exactly.
I need to read back…more vampires?
Yep, I dusted off the pregnant vampire story from a couple weeks back.
Good stuff! Its worth it!
..then PS.new challenge if you’d like to have a go..http://ligoeditions.wordpress.com/2013/02/07/the-ligo-haibun-challenge-prompt-melt/
I am among the ones who can’ t wait to pop THE question: “What happened next?” 🙂
well in the next installment we’ll see what she wrote him. Somehow I don’t think she’s looking to reconcile with Eric as much as she is longing for his head on a pike.
Intriguing…
It’s only going to get better from here…
Keeps you wanting for more…Well done!
Tom
and more shall soon follow. Stay tuned. 😉
I will.
I want more of this story!
I have plenty planned and let me just say, it’s not going to stay playful and light for long…
Good! I like the mix ups.
The plot thickens…
Indeed.
“He didn’t normally steal from his victims but it was of his refined taste and he’d hate to see it go to waste.” –great line.
Well he is a rich boy and a bit of a snob. Stealing often would make him feel like he’s common street trash who can’t afford to buy their own things and better things at that.
That line was choice!
oh Man!!! She didn’t even cool down!!! I see fireworks coming!
Or nukes but either way, things are about to get ugly.
looking forward to it, with the mindset of a guest at the Coliseum in Ancient Rome.
ooohh what’s next? what’s next? we all wanna know ^^
You’ll have to wait and see 😉
Aha! She found him.. For a second I thought it’s Elle herself standing on the door. 🙂 Can’t wait to read what’s written in the letter.
“Can’t wait to read what’s written in the letter.” Next time 🙂
Good idea to continue it from your previous post on friday fictioneers. and he also steals from his victims:) an interesting post
Yes, he steals. If it’s something he really likes then he certainly won’t deprive himself and he will always make a justification for it.
A murderer with morals? Intriguing take. “…familiar scent as bent down…” I think you might be missing “he” in this sentence.
“A murderer with morals? Intriguing take.” While I think vampires have their own moral codes, I don’t think that applies with the stealing thing. He doesn’t steal because he considers it above a person of his station in life. Stealing is for gutter trash, not men of noble blood.
Thank you for catching the “he”. I’m always catching other people’s mistakes. I can’t believe I didn’t catch my own.
so we get to wonder if elle is the latest victim who escaped or someone who knows what’s going on. interesting. well done.
This is a continuation of a previous 100 word friday fictioneer’s story. Link is in the top paragraph. 🙂 It explains all.
Elle ddi not like being left behind and pregnant. I think Eric is going to have some explaining to do.
I think Eric is going to have some serious running for his life to do. lol
Aha. Elle with a familiar scent leaving unexpected envelopes at hotel room doors can’t be good. Can it?
Not when it’s a pissed off, pregnant vampire you’ve scorned…. I’d think not.
Great beginning. I’d definitely read more to find out what happens!
Awesome. I’m going to be sure to continue with this story. It’s going to start picking up very soon.
Well done, yes, more!

Thank you 🙂
Great story. Something very strange is happening to the fictioneers this week – there’s collaborations, people borrowing words from each other and now sequels! Can’t wait to see what happens next 🙂
I know, this week the fictioneers has gotten all sorts of freaky but I like freaky 😉
We all know that a pregnant vampire is dreaded even by vampires. This is bloody good… Pun intended
Oh yeah, they are and for damn good reason. Eric better watch himself. Things are about to get ugly.
Dear MisAnthroPicMuse,
I looked back into the past and read your first story (which I missed while out disc golfing on Maui) and found the pair to be delightful. Eric didn’t get his two hundred years, did he? Perhaps the letter is a request for child support. I wonder what form that would take? Well done.
Aloha,
Doug
“disc golfing on Maui” Sounds like you had a darn good reason to miss out on that week’s Friday Fictioneers. Having fun in outdoors Maui definitely trumps staying in and reading. 🙂
I too wonder what form child support would take in a vampire clan. It’s an interesting concept that should be explored.
This is turning into Flash Gordon, an ongoing serial! Going to get my popcorn and come back next week.
“Going to get my popcorn and come back next week.” The popcorn might be a little stale by then but the story will be quite fresh 😉
Nicely written, I’m always up for a bit of the supernatural.
Thank you, there will be more to come 🙂
